She's in good hands

In rolled 6am Monday July 11, 2011...

All had restful sleep.  Morning was going great until my nose and allergies went into overdrive.  The "nonsmoking" room we were in was next door to a "smoking" room.  A risk of upper respiratory infection with Josie right now is not a risk I can take.  If she were to get an infection or drainage, she likely would not be able to have the surgery now.

Without difficulty, we found a very nice option across the street in less than 30 minutes.  We loaded everything up and moved across the street just in time for feeding and nap time.

We added our final decorative touch with Noah's original art work.  His only request when we left was that we put his picture on the refrigerator in San Antonio.  He even sent magnets.
Here you go, Noah!  It is beautiful!! Harvey and Jesse the cats look great in the upstairs!

After all was settled, we set out to donate blood. Our location is just 2.5 miles from the University Hospital.

Here is a picture of University Hospital.  I think a crane is an architectural requirement of all university campuses.

Up the elevator to the third floor...

Very nice staff greeted us and helped us immediately.  After paper work was filled out, the nurse interviewed each of us.  Josh was able to donate first.  This blood will be designated for Josie should she have to have a transfusion before or after her surgery.  This is referred to as directed blood donation.

When I told Josie that daddy was donating blood for her:

"Thank you, Daddy!"

Then it was my turn.  As it turns out, because I had to have a blood transfusion after I delivered the twins, I was not able to donate for Josie.  The nurse smiled and said, "You are here for Dr. Jimenez?".  I told her "yes".  She said that people fly from all over the world to have him operate on their children.  She went on to say that he never has to use the blood.  She ended the conversation with a hand on my arm and "She is in very good hands".

We returned back to the hotel and settled in early for some much needed rest.

No appointments tomorrow and then three starting at 10A Wednesday.
